About

IMG_5330.jpg

After completing my BFA in printmaking at Carnegie Mellon in 1991, I began working as a landscape laborer in San Francisco. Since then I have worked in a variety of related jobs; from retail nurseries in Marin, to stone masonry, and since 2002 as a self-employed landscaper in Petaluma. Projects have included new construction and yard renovations involving stonework, carpentry, plantings, irrigation and drainage. My ongoing care of gardens and personal relationships with clients is something that sets me apart. I can share my experience to help create gardens that are user-friendly, drought tolerant, deer resistant and low maintenance.
My artistic expression has gone through many phases over time, resulting in a highly evolved approach and perspective. I like to use foliage and texture as well as flowers to realize landscapes that look great year-round here in Northern California.

Testimonials

Scott Seaver is the best friend my yard has ever had.
His excellent work, excellent advice and eye for detail have transformed my yard over the 10+ years I’ve been lucky enough to have his services.
He is an extremely kind, knowledgeable (both generally and about local specific resources) and thorough man, a great communicator and utterly reliable.
I would unhesitatingly recommend him to design and/or maintain a property to realize your vision of beautiful, sustainable landscaping.

Mike Phelan, Petaluma
(Monthly maintenance client since 2007)

We came to Scott with a rough idea of how we wanted our yard to look. He brought it to an entirely new level, one that surpassed our expectations. He worked on every aspect of the plan and its implementation and created an environment that has matured and thrived for many years.  He has impressive and invaluable knowledge of not only the environment, plants and their lifecycles, but also of aesthetics, hardscapes and the many underlying functional elements that make a landscape successful.  He's highly effective because of his combination of knowledge, vision and experience.  Plus he’s a person of integrity and super easy to work with.

Deb & Christopher Smith, Petaluma
(Total yard makeover 2006)

For close to 10 years we have enjoyed working with Scott on our .63 acre property. He is trustworthy, reliable, creative yet practical, consistent, offers a fair value, efficient, and is easy to work with. When it comes to discussing design ideas for our garden and plant selection, he provides clear and knowledgeable solutions while being open to find what the right fit is for you and the garden you are looking for. We have always been more than pleased with the outcome, while fully enjoying the process it takes to get there. He's the best!

Jasmine & John Gerber, Petaluma

I could go on but you get the idea….
